An ADD Generation

This week was a good week in A&T. It totally broke up the monotony of all the films we've been watching! I love video art. I understand video art... lol. I think one of my favorites was William Wegman's (spelling?) dogs. I have seen that everywhere. There are even 2 dogs in front of Plant Hall that reminded me of that! I was also very moved by Richard Serra's  "TV Delivers People." That's the kind of art I like to make. Simple. Powerful.

I definitely agree that we are the ADD generation. Sadly, we are losing touch with some of the greatest art and music in the world. I also agree with the idea of postmodernism. Everything has been made before so we'll just transform it and make it something else.

I am fascinated with the whole idea of decontextualizing something. It's so radical and different. I am looking forward to the video art project final! My favorite thing from class Thursday (today) was the manipulated news casts. Immediately, I thought of Live Free or Die Hard and the "fire sale" scheme. In the movie, the bad guys used presidential speeches to deliver a message to the people that the entire nation was under attack and that it was their fault. It was genius.

**If anyone needs help with their video art piece, just let me know!!
