So I feel like I should explain what I did in my performance piece this morning. On the computer I had Skype open and video chatting with my boyfriend. (He wasn't actually there, but his room was.) Then I had itunes up and was playing a song called "Adding To The Noise." I also had open Firefox and was online looking at Facebook and Twitter. I used Twitter to tell the world that I was playing on Photoshop at that instant. Two people called me while I was sitting there and asked if I could go somewhere with them. I said "I can't" because I had to focus on something. Then I opened 2 photos that I got offline earlier and manipulated them to create a faded keyboard in the sky with the quote "Don't forget to glance up from the keyboard and recall the blueness of the sky." This is one of my favorite quotes because I always get caught up in my technology. I always have to have the newest and best product, and I always have to be using it! When my computer is on, these programs are constantly running:Firefox - Windows Live, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Netflix, Blogger, Wordpress, Xanga, etc...

and a few others! So I'm constantly in tune with my technology. I frequently decline going out and even eating because I'm so soaked into something online to making something on Photoshop. Several times people hang up on me because I'm not giving them my full attention. So, in a way, I, along with everyone else, am trapped by technology!

great job. It's so true so many of us are doing so0 many things at once all because of technology. There are times when i try to facebook, check webmail, and check blackboard int he same browser just to see which one will come up first
Yours was true in showing that everyday with technology it is a performance piece. You showed technically what we all do, its a whole mess of electronics in one hand and how we all create art with our own hands.
I can totally relate to your performance, but more on the side of the annoyed people who have hung up on you before. I hate how wrapped up my roommates, friends, and even parents get with their computers that talking to them is simply impossible. Very frustrating! Great job though, you really knew what you were doing on all those programs!
I really liked your preformance. I always try to do multiple things on my computer at once. It amzaing that our computers don't crash more often. I think you did a great job!
you did a great job with your performance art piece and i liked you message. alot of of the time people just really don't do anyhting because we are doing so many things with technology. we use it so much, its crazy.
