I really enjoyed the Electronics Alive! art shows and lectures...
Cynthia Lawson is a great artist. I really enjoyed her newspaper headline thing that updated all the time and read aloud different headlines. It was so clever! I always love watching what some people up with to creatively better the world around them and reach others less fortunate. The 28 day Thing-a-Day looked so fun and I'm definitely participating next February! I also enjoyed the layering transparencies! I wish I could go to another country and teach natives about the upcoming technology!!
Bruce Wands was very interesting. I loved his Buddha Light Paintings. They were so intriguing and articulate. I never would have thought to look at something like that and do what he did. All of the pieces he showed were absolutely fantastic. I liked hearing about the evolution of the technology and art forms from the 1950's and 60's to now... and I am eagerly waiting to read his book!
Christina Nguyen was the best I thought. I thought her research on "the perfect baby" was a little far-fetched, but interesting none-the-less. Her work with bacteria was stunning. Who would have thought to do such a thing? I hope that when I develop more artful skills and perhaps get into grad school that I could participate in something just as interesting!
