15 Minutes of Fame

The 60's - another fabulous era.
From the Beat Generation to the Beatniks to the Hippies.
Mind altering drugs like LSD and XTC.
The evolution from a company assuming a persona to the artist is equal to the persona.
Blondie. "Rapture." First commercial song to use rap.
Velvet Underground.
Lou Reed.
and... Andy Worhol.

Oh, Andy. Superstar born around 1928. Advertiser. Artist. Weirdo. He built a persona and slid perfectly into place. He caused a scene like no one has ever seen (that rhymed- homonyms)! The controversial artwork. The nudity. The drugs. Shock and awe. Oh, the fun! I thought the greatest part of Andy's film career was his genius idea to film 15 minutes of someone sleeping, someone getting a blow job, someone simply staring into the camera. (Hence, the 15 minutes of fame.) Genius.

In the 60's, art became extreme. It was rich; it was flagrant. It was real; it was passionate.
