Dada
Man Ray: prophet of the avaunt garde and my hero. He was a performance artist, a photographer, a film maker... he was everything, and that's pretty much where I am right now. I love the DaDa era because it paved the way for ordinary people like me to do extraordinary things and call it "art." I make collages all the time with photos of my friends. I just recently made two movies, and I have no doubt that I could pin a canvas up on a wall and take a handfull of paint and throw it at the paper and be able to call that a masterpiece. I'm glad that it was so influential to our world! Typography was another result of the Dada and Bauhaus era. I use typography everyday in advertising and print media. Man I wish I could have witnessed the fantastic happenings in the 1910's and 1920's!
